Introduction of the Nanjing Museum: |
Covering an area of 12.9 hectare, Nanjing Museum is situated inside the Zhongshan Gate of the city from which it takes its name. It was founded by Cai Yuan Pei (a modern democratic revolutionary and educationist) in l933 and constructed in the style of a traditional Chinese temple. Nanjing Museum is reputed as a synthetic museum of art. Besides, it is not only one of Chinese key museums but the important patriotic education base in Nanjing.
The Nanjing Museum shoulders the tasks that investigates and unearths underground sites and tumulus; protects cultural relics; keeps artifacts and so on.
