The name of Qi Xia (pronounced as Kitsya) Mountain, also called “She Mountain”, was originated from the name of a house “Qi Xia Temple” in the mountain, in the South Dynasty. There are three peaks called Feng Xiang (Phoenix Flying) Peak, Long(dragon) Peak and Hu(Tiger) Peak respectively by the animal-like shape.

Qi Xia Temple in Qi Xia Mountain, which is the biggest one in Nanjing District, is located in the west of middle peak. It is the cradle of the Buddhism School of The Three Sastras.
