Shenyang Olympic Stadium, one of the four football venues in the co-host cities, is hosting 12 football preliminary matches during the Olympics 2008. The stadium has a land surface of 150,000 square meters and the sporting complex has the seat capacity of 60,000 people, including a 10,000-seat gymnasium, a 4,000-seat swimming pool complex and a 4,000-seat tennis field. The multipurpose venue is the most modern and visually stunning sports stadium in Shenyang's history. The stadium, which has been dubbed 'Crystal Crown', gives panoramic visual view at night. |

Shenyang Imperial Palace is the only existing royal palace in China outside of the Forbidden City in Beijing. The main structure of the palace was built in 1625 when Nurhachi was in power. It was finished in 1636 by his son Abahai. Nurhachi and Abahai were both founding emperors of the Qing Dynasty. Covering an area of more than 60,000 square meters, The palace consists of more than 300 rooms and formed around 20 courtyards. |

Fuling Tomb (East Tomb) is the mausoleum of Nurhachi (1559-1626), the founder of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and his empress. Covering an area of 194,800 square meters (about 48 acres), Fuling Tomb is a well-preserved tomb complex of the Qing Dynasty. It is now included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. Work on this majestic tomb began in 1629 and finished in 1651. It was built against the Tianzhu Mountain enjoying a grand topography, rich historic connotation and beautiful scenery. |

Zhaoling Tomb is the mausoleum of Huang Taiji of the Qing Dynasty and his queen Bo'erjijite. Huang Taiji was the eighth son of Nurhachi, a great leader who established the Later Jin State and laid the foundation of the Qing Dynasty. Zhaoling is the largest and most magnificent. It is also one of the best preserved imperial mausoleums of China. In March, 1982, it was listed in the second group of Key Cultural Relics Units under the State Protection by the State Council. |

The 18 September Memorial Museum is named after the date when Shenyang was captured by the Janpanese in 1931. Exhibits in the museum include over 800 photographs which reveal the Janpanese occupation of northeast China during the World War Two. Be forewarned, there are some gruesome displays in the museum which is not suitable for the faint-hearted. English captions are avaibale for foreigners to have an overview of the place. |

Hui Mountain Ice and Snow World is 17 kilometers away from Shenyang city and covers an area of 116 square meters. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and an expanse of water on the left one. They are Hui Mountain, Chessboard Mountain, Dayang Mountain and Xiu Lake. It have world-class cable, snow making machine, and skiing equipment. The trails have low slope which are suitable for under-experienced skiers. |
