Nanning, called Yong city or Yong for short, the capital city of Guangxi Province. is not only the political, economic and cultural center of the province, but also plays an important role in the economic development of southwest China.
 

Situation
Nanning borders Vietnam, is neighbor to Guangzhou, close to Hong Kong and Macau, and faces Southeast Asia. This advantageous location makes the city a commercial and communication center, opening China to Southeast Asia. At present, Nanning governs six districts (Xingning, Jiangnan, Qingxiu, Xixiangtang, Yongning and Liangqing districts) and six counties (Wuming, Heng, Binyang, Shanglin, Mashan and Long'an counties) with an area of 22293 sq.km.

Weather & Temperature
Nanning is a small basin surround by mountains. It belongs to the subtropical monsoon zone. The annual average temperature is about 27.7C. The mild climate makes the city green all year, hence its name 'Green City'. Rainfalls are somewhat frequent there, even in the hot summer; while snows are seldom.

Travel in Nanning
As the linking point of the tour route from Guilin to Beihai, Nanning has a lot of attractions to offer: grand De Tian Waterfall, beautiful Mt. Qingxiu and Mt. Daming, quiet Yangmei Ancient Town, mysterious Huashan Mural as well as scattered parks and gardens. Visitors will be enchanted and may want to spend more time in the city. Delicious local foods such as various porridges and rice noodles as well as Suanye cannot be enjoyed anywhere else in China.

   

Transportation
Convenient transportation systems make Nanning easily accessible. You can go there by air, by train, by coach or by sea. The transportation within the city is also satisfying.

By Air - Nanning Wuxu International Airport (NNG) is located in Wuxu Town, about 31 kilometers southwest from the city proper. Since its opening, Wuxu Airport has reached a capacity of some 2.5 million passengers each year and can handle 15 large passenger airliners at one time.

By Train - Nanning Railway Station is located in Zhong Hua Lu (Zhonghua Rd.) in the central area of the city. The station was built in 1951. It now has sound passenger and freight transit facilities. As the meeting point of many inland railways, the station has trains directly to most large cities in China.
