Shanghai's 102-year-old Waibaidu Bridge is being set back in its original location after a 10-month absence for repairs and restoration.
Cranes lifted the northern section of the bridge's main structure onto a barge at 7:20am today.
Two tugboats then pulled the barge with the steel structure to the mouth of the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek at about 10:20am.
Aided by favorable tides, the barge reached the supports on Suzhou Creek at 11am.
The span was placed back on its original site at 12:45pm. |
