Long history and magnificent culture have given the area many tourism resources. Shaanxi is very rich in cultural relics having a high density, huge number and high standard of relics. It is ranked No. 1 in the world. Examples of this exceptional storehouse of history are : The Terracotta Warriors of Qin Dynasty which is one of the Eight Wonders of the world and the Famen Temple which houses the Sakyamuni Budha's finger bone and Xian¡¯s ancient City Wall is renowned at home and abroad. Shaanxi loess plateau, and the natural scenery in the south of Shaanxi are all very charming; Mt. Huashan (West High Mountain), waterfall in Hukou, and Qinling National Environmental Preserve all have very distinctive natural sceneries.

Transportation
Shaanxi is comparatively advanced in transportation. The major means of transportation for traveling are flights, railway and highway.

By Train - The Long-Hai Railway runs across Shaanxi region and connects Huan Mountain, Lintong, Xian, Xianyang and Baoji; trains are available to Yanan, Tongchuan and Ankang in Xian.
By Bus - Xian is the hub of the highway system in Shaanxi and here there are nine national roads that radiate from this hub. It is the no. 2 highway interchange in China, next to Beijing. Freeways run from Xian to Tongchuan, Huan Mountain, Tongguan, Xianyang and Baoji. |
