Sichuan Province, located in southwest China, is one of the largest and most inaccessible provinces in China. it has an area of 570,000 kilometers, accounting for 6% of the total area of China. it boasts the largest population with 87 million people. the capital is Chengdu.
 

Situation
Sichuan is bordered by the Tibetan Plateau in the west and by the Three Gorges and the Yangtze River in the east. The eastern part of the Sichuan basin is ringed by lofty mountains and experiences a subtropical and humid climate. The western part is considered the highland area and experiences frequent fog with intense sunlight, but low temperatures.

Weather & Temperature
Impacted by the Southeast Pacific Ocean Monsoon and the Southwest Indian Ocean Monsoon, most of the regions have the annual rainfall of 600mm to 1,000mm and feature the consecutive night raining. The Eastern Basin annual average temperature is 15~19íŠ, so are the spring and the fall. The coldest January average temperature is 3~8íŠ, the hottest July average temperature is 25íŠ~29íŠ. The Western Plateau annual average temperature is under 8íŠ. January average temperature is around - 5íŠ, the average temperature in July is only 10íŠ~15íŠ. The seasons have no summer but a longer winter.

Travel in Sichuan
Sichuan's complicated landforms have resulted in some unparalled natural scenery in the region. there has two places on the World Cultural and Natural Heritage List: The Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong National Park are two of the most beautiful parks in the country. both with wide variety of beautiful landscapes including plateaus, mountains, ravines, basins, hills, plains, rivers, lakes, hot springs, waterfalls and limestone caves.

Standing side by side with the regional natural beauty are the place's numerous cultural relics and historical sights. Throughout the region, travelers can find Mt. Emeishan and Mt. Qingcheng, two of the most sacred mountains in China, the oldest water control project in the world - Doujiangyan Irrigation Project and the Giant Buddha in Leshan. These three historical sites along with the Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong National parks are included in the World Heritage List.
   
Chengdu City
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan and is the cultural and industrial center for the agricultural Chengdu Plain. this city is home to the Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base, one of the most important centers in the world for the captive conservation of the Giant Panda. The Research Centre has evolved into China Panda City. Panda City encompasses a museum, as well as the Chengdu Zoo.
